What is the full form of PSI ?
No:1. PSI stands for Pound per Square Inch.
No:2. It is the unit of pressure.
No:3. One PSI is equal to the pressure which is created when one pound force is applied to an area of one square inch.
No:4. So, PSI is the measure of force which is exerted on one square inch area.

No:1. PSI stands for Population Services International.
No:2. It is a global health organization which was establish to improve the health of people in the developing countries.
No:3. It educates people about the benefits of family planning and provides clinical services and life-saving drugs for serious diseases like HIV, malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition.
No:4. The organization is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
No:5. It is spread across more than 60 countries around the world and has around 9,000 staff members.
Brief history
No:1. PSI was found in 1970. For the first fifteen years.
No:2. It mainly worked in family planning and educated people about the benefits of family planning.
No:3. In 1985, it started providing oral rehydration therapy.
No:4. In 1988, it started HIV prevention project which promoted fidelity and use of condoms.
No:5. In the 1990s, it included malaria and safe water in its services.
No:6. In 2004, it added tuberculosis to its portfolio.
PSI in India
No:1. PSI started providing clinical services in India in 1988.
No:2. It currently has around 1000 staff members across 20 states of India.
