History of IBM
No:1. Charles Ranlett Flint founded The Company as CTR (Computing Tabulating Recording Company) on 16 June 1911.
No:2. It was the result of the three-business union; Tabulating Machine Company, International Time Recording Company, and Computing Scale Company.
No:3. Around 1914 the National Cash Register Company’s Thomas J. Watson, Sr. founded the Computing Tabulating Recording Company.
No:4. The name CTR changed into IBM in 1924.
No:5. IBM introduced the first computer in 1953 (IBM’s 701 defence calculator). It was an electronic device that was for general use.
No:6. In 1957, IBM created a programming language, FORTRAN.
No:7. In 1933 IBM and 1935 acquired the exclusive rights for electric typewriter; it produced an upgraded version of the typewriter.
