SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2022

As per the revised exam pattern, the Staff Selection Commission of India will be conducting SSC CGL 2022 Exam in two stages: Tier-1 and Tier-2. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be compulsory for all candidates. For SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam, there will be Paper 1, 2, and 3, whereas Paper I is Compulsory for all posts, Paper II is for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III is for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer. Let’s have a look at the exam pattern for all these stages of SSC CGL 2022 Recruitment process one by one.

Candidates must note that the SSC CGL Tier 1 is qualifying in nature and Tier 2 is scoring in nature. The marks scored in SSC CGL Tier 2 will be considered for final selection for the vacancies announced through the SSC CGL 2022 Exam.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2022- Tier 1

SSC CGL Exam Pattern Tier-1 comprises 100 questions in total with a maximum mark of 200. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature whereas the final selection is based on the SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam. SSC CGL Exam Pattern Tier-1 is of 60 minutes. SSC CGL Exam Pattern Tier-I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and maximum marks of 50. Normalization will be done by SSC if an exam is conducted in multiple shifts.

SSC CGL Tier-2 Exam Pattern (Revised)

SSC CGL Tier-2 exam will be conducted in 3 phases- Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2016-17 [Changed Exam Pattern]

No.-1.For the first time, SSC CGL Exam was conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) i.e in online mode including both Tier-1 and Tier-2 Exam.

No.-2.Negative marking was increased from 0.25 marks for each wrong answer to 0.50 marks in Tier-I Exam.

No.-3.Change gets in several questions: Now Tier-1 contains 100 questions.

No.-4.The time Duration was reduced from 120 minutes to 75 Minutes.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2017-18 [Time Limit Reduced]

No.-1.SSC CGL 2017-18 Exam followed the same procedure as of SSC CGL 2016-17

No.-2.The only change was a reduction in the Time Duration of the Tier 1 Exam, it was deducted from 75 Minutes to 60 Minutes.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2018-19 [Normalization]

No.-1.SSC CGL 2018-19 Exam followed the same pattern as of SSC CGL 2017-18

No.-2.The only change is the introduction of normalization.

Ans – Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks in all sections in Tier 1.
