Full Form of PDA : Personal Digital Assistant
What is the Full form of PDA?
No:1. The full form of PDA is a Personal Digital Assistant.
No:2. PDA is a handheld computer without a keyboard but with a screen to use a pen-like stylus to type or draw the text.
No:3. They can write notes, read charts, link, upload & access to the internet.
No:4. The other name is of PDA is palmtop or pocket computer.
No:5. Many PDAs started as pen-based, to use a stylus instead of a keyboard for input purpose.
No:6. It means they’ve even added identification apps for handwriting.
No:7. Many PDAs also use voice recognition technology to respond to voice inputs.

Important characteristics of PDA
No:1. It could have either one two keys to generate the shortcuts required by the application. Otherwise, the user will touch or use the pen-like stylus to write a text.
No:2. Older PDAs did not use a memory port, but now certain PDAs can also have a port for memory cards and a port for the USB drive.
No:3. Previously PDAs had been able to link to PC via serial ports and other gadgets. Now they’re using the USB cable that connects them.
No:4. PDAs include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi that are wireless.
No:5. Many PDAs could have GPS constructed-in, but some may include external GPS links.
No:6. Rugged PDAs provide several additional features like radio frequency readers, barcode readers, smart card & magnetic stripe card readers.
Features of PDA
No:1. Touch screen: It may have one or two buttons to create the shortcuts for the app used. Otherwise, user has to enter a text by touching or using pen-like stylus.
No:2. Memory cards: Earlier PDAs did not have a memory slot but now some PDAs may have memory card slot and USB flash drive slot.
No:3. Wired connectivity: Earlier PDAs were able to connect to a personnel computer via serial ports or other devices. Now USB cables are used to connect them.
No:4. Wireless connectivity: PDAs have Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi which are wireless.
No:5. Operating system: Pre-installed operating systems are Palm OS, WebOS.
No:6. Navigation: Some PDAs may have built-in GPS and some may connect to GPS externally.
