Full Form of NCW : The full form of the NCW isNational Commission for Women.

What is the full form of NCW?

No:1. The full form of the NCW is National Commission for Women.
No:2. It is a statutory organization of the Government of India.
No:3. It was created under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, in January 1992.
No:4. It seeks to investigate women’s constitutional and legal protections, prescribe remedial measures, facilitate prompt resolution of grievances, and advise the government on women’s policies.

Significant Activities of NCW

Listed are some of NCW’s significant functions :
No:1. Study and suggest changes to the existing constitutional provisions & other laws that affect women if faults are identified.
No:2. Women’s education regarding their civil rights & the processes by which their rights are being used
No:3. Supporting women in rectifying their complaints
No:4. Coordinating the timely distribution of justice to women in different parts of India through Parivarik Mahila Lok Adalats.
No:5. Help and recommendations on the development process for women’s socio-economic growth
No:6. Assess the effects of the participation of women at a union or state level.
No:7. Jail examination, home confinement, or any custody location where women are held as inmates and take appropriate action if necessary.

Activities

No:1. The objective of the NCW is to represent the rights of women in India and to provide a voice for their issues and concerns.
No:2. The subjects of their campaigns have included dowry, politics, religion, equal representation for women in jobs, and the exploitation of women for labour.
No:3. They have also discussed police abuses against women.
No:4. The commission regularly publishes a monthly newsletter, Rashtra Mahila, in both Hindi and English.
