A brief history of IMA
No:1. IMA’s was founded in 1932.
No:2. IMA’s first batch had 40 Cadets of Gentlemen as trainees. Those cadets were known as “PIONEERS.”
No:3. Its first Commander was Brigadier L.P. Collins. A trainee candidate is recognized as a gentleman cadet in IMA.
No:4. IMA ‘s place is at the Himalayan foothills, on National Highway 72, about 8 km west of Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
No:5. The academy occupies an area of more than 1400 acres of land.
No:6. Only for the male applicants training are given and turns them into officers in the army.
No:7. Not only does the academy educate applicants for the battlefield, but it also offers physical equipment and facilities to prepare potential officers in the military.
