What is the full form of GMO ?
No:1. The full form of GMO is Genetically Modified Organism.
No:2. It refers to a plant, animal or any other organism whose genetic makeup has been alter or modify through recombinant DNA technology (gene splicing), gene modification or transgenic technology.
No:3. GMO is produce through a laboratory process where genes of one organism are extract and transfer to another organism or a different species.
No:4. As this process involves transfer of genes, the GMOs are also call “transgenic” organisms.
