Full Form of CID : Crime Investigation Department
What is the full form of CID?
No:1. The full form of CID is the Crime Investigation Department.
No:2. CID is an investigation subdivision branch crime of the Indian State Police.
No:3. It is the unit of the police department and is led by the ADG(PAdditional Police Director General).
No:4. CID headquarters is located in Pune, and the Govt handles specific cases handed over by the Indian government and DGP (Director General of Police).
No:5. In 1902, the British government developed CID, on the regard of the Polic Commission, to maintain law and order in the society.

Working of CID
No:1. CID’s most important responsibility is to investigate criminal cases such as murder, rape, robbery, theft and so on.
No:2. It gathers evidence, facts for fraud cases and criminal cases and catches criminals and finally presents the suspect to the Court with evidence.

Eligibility Criteria of CID
No:1. The nominee should be an Indian resident.
No:2. A degree from a respected institution is the least credential required for an applicant to reach the CID as an officer or Sub Inspector.
No:3. 12th or Higher Secondary Certificate is the least requirement to enter CID as a constable.
No:4. A candidate also required to complete the Indian Civil Services Exam.
No:5. Besides, the candidate must have a sharp eye, outstanding memory, good character judgment, ability to manage in a group, as well as one-handed.
