Full Form of WPA : Wi-Fi Protected Access

What is the full form of WPA ?

No:1. WPA stands for Wi-Fi Protected Access.
No:2. It is a security protocol for Wi-Fi networks.
No:3. It was developed to replace the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) or to improve upon the features of WEP.
No:4. It was introduced in 2003 with the 802.11i wireless standard.
No:5. Its upgraded version is WPA2 which is more secure than the WPA. Since 2006, all network devices are required to be WPA2 certified.

Features

No:1. It provides better encryption than WEP through any of the two standard technologies: Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).
No:2. It offers built-in authentication support that is not available in WEP.
No:3. It offers support for authentication servers or RADIUS servers.
No:4. When it uses TKIP, a message integrity code is included to make sure that date is secured. It is better than the WEP’s packet guarantee called cyclic redundancy check (CRC).

How WPA Works?

No:1. When you are in the process of connecting with a Wi-Fi connection, you will see options to choose from.
No:2. And these options will also appear when setting up a network so that other people can get connected.
No:3. Even after the improvement, there are some problems while using WAP as a cause there is not enough security in the WPA encryption.

The Use of TKIP

No:1. Many devices still have WEP, and TKIP was designed to help them quickly move to the WAP from WEP using firmware upgrades.
No:2. That is why TKIP is easy to break, so the hacker can quickly steal connections from the Wi-Fi network.
No:3. That is why WPA2 was brought. It provides a much better and safe encryption feature than the previous WAP security.

Why WAP2 is Essential

No:1. Even though WAP Stands for much better data encryption but because of the lack of some features, WAP2 was brought.
No:2. The main changes made in WAP2 are the mandatory use of the AES algorithm.
No:3. WAP2 was made to replace the vulnerability of TKIP.
No:4. But alas, WAP2 has some weaknesses of its own among the enterprise wireless access’s unauthorized access.
No:5. But if you create a more complicated password by using critical numbers and symbols, you can easily save the connection.
