The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) started taking the Combined Higher Secondary Level(CHSL) in three levels for various posts from 2019 we share SSC CHSL Exam Pattern.
Staff Selection Commission-Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) is conducted in three tiers. SSC CHSL tier-I is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that contains multiple-choice questions (MCQs). SSC CHSL tier-II is a pen-and-paper based exam containing descriptive questions. CHSL tier-III is a typing/skill test conducted on a computer as per the post applied by a candidate.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern
Before one starts preparing for SSC Exam, it is essential to make a note of modifications done in pattern and syllabus. The alterations to SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2019 which are related to 2019 are given below::
- SSC CHSL 2019 Tier 1 exam will be held online.
- in tier 2 there will be a Descriptive paper of 100 marks within 60 minutes in pen and paper mode.
- There is a reduction in the time limit for examination of Tier -I from 120 minutes to 75 minutes.
- There is no change in Tier III.
SSC CHSL Exam Pattern – Tier-I
Exam pattern for CHSL tier-I is such that the question paper will be divided into four parts containing a total of 100 objective multiple choice questions. Candidates need to complete the exam in a duration of 60 minutes. For further clarification candidates can refer the table below:

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern – Tier II
CHSL exam pattern for Tier II is such that the question paper will be descriptive in nature wherein candidates have to write an essay and a letter/ application (in pen and paper mode) in one hour duration. The paper has been designed “to assess the writing skills of the candidates which is necessary in Government jobs,” informs the official website.
Minimum marks required by candidates to clear Tier-II exam is 33%. For further clarification candidates can refer the table below:

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern – Tier III
CHSL exam paper for Tier-III contains a skill or typing test depending on the post a candidate is applying for.

Skill Test for DEO: In this test, candidates are tested on their data entry speed. Candidates should have a data entry speed of 8,000 key-depressions per hour on computer. The test is of 15 minutes duration in which each candidate is given printed matter of about 2,000-2,200 key-depressions that they have to enter in the computer.
Skill Test for DEO (Grade-A): Candidates applying for DEO (Grade A) post in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) should have a speed of 15,000 key-depressions per hour on computer. Each candidate is given printed matter of about 3,700-4,000 key-depressions that they have to enter in the computer in a duration of 15 minutes.
