Full Form of RNA : Full Form of RNA is Ribonucleic Acid.

What is the full form of RNA?

No:1. The full form of RNA is Ribonucleic Acid.
No:2. It is one of the important nucleic acids in an organism, while deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the other.
No:3. According to the principle of RNA, it is the first genetic material from which all genetic code was extracted and from which early life originated.
No:4. It is a molecule which replicates itself. In simple terms, RNA is the precursor to any mode of life that exists in this world today.

About Structure of RNA :

No:1. The RNA molecule is made up of phosphoric acid, a pentose sugar and some nitrogen-containing cyclic bases.
No:2. It has β-D-ribose in it as the moiety for sugar.
No:3. Guanine (G), Adenine (A), Cytosine (C), and Uracil (U) are the heterocyclic bases existing in RNA.
No:4. The 4th  base of RNA is distinct from that in DNA.
No:5. Uracil and Adenine are known as the primary RNA basic building block and both form base pairs with the aid of two hydrogen bonds.
No:6. It mainly consists of a single strand which sometimes folds back.
No:7. It exhibits a hairpin structure and like the nucleotides in DNA, nucleotides are generated in this ribonucleic material(RNA).
No:8. Nucleosides are like the groups of phosphates, which also often aid in the synthesis of nucleotides in DNA.

Different types of RNA are :

There are various types of RNA out of which the most well-known and most widely studied in the human body are given below :

No:1. tRNA (Transfer RNA) :

a). tRNA or The transfer RNA is responsible for identifying the appropriate protein or the amino acids that the body requires to help the ribosomes in-turn.
b). tRNA is at the endpoints of every amino acid.
c). tRNA is also called soluble RNA and constitutes a link among amino acid and messenger RNA.

No:2. mRNA (Messenger RNA)

a). It is responsible for the title implies, to get the genetic material to the ribosomes and determines what kind of protein the body needs.
b). It is also known as messenger RNA.
c). It is usually used in the transcription and in the protein production process.

No:3. rRNA (Ribosomal RNA) :
  1. a). It is the ribosome component, which is found inside the cytoplasm of a cell, where ribosomes are found.
  2. b). The rRNA (Ribosomal RNA) is mostly required for the synthesis and translation of mRNA into proteins for all living creatures.
  3. c). It consists primarily of cellular RNA and is the most prevalent RNA in all life forms cells.

Main functions of RNA are :

The primary functions of RNA are mentoned below :
No:1. Enables faster translation of DNA into proteins.
No:2. Operates as a protein synthesizing adaptor molecule.
No:3. RNA acts as a messenger between the DNA and ribosomes.
No:4. RNA’s are the transmitter of genetic material for all the living organisms.
No:5. It encourages the ribosomes to select the right amino acid that is needed to build new proteins in the body.
