Full Form of GFR : The full form of GFR is the Glomerular Filtration Rate.
What is the full form of the GFR?
No:1. The full form of GFR is the Glomerular Filtration Rate.
No:2. It is a measure that is used to verify how well the kidneys perform.
No:3. Explicitly, it calculates how much blood goes per minute via the glomeruli.
No:4. The small filters in the kidneys that remove waste from the blood are glomeruli.
No:5. The rate of Glomerulus filtration is typically calculated using a mathematical formula wherein the age, sex & race of an individual are correlated with serum levels of creatinine.
No:6. The lower the amount of GFRs, the greater the danger to the kidney.

Determining chronic kidney disease using GFR:
The normal GFR range varies between 90-110mL/min/1.73m2 . GFR decreases with age hence in older people the GFR would be lower than normal.
A physician generally classifies the kidney disease based on the staging system that uses GFR:
No:1. Stage 1: This comes under normal kidney function since the GFR is 90 or more.
No:2. Stage 2: There would be a mild variation in the kidney function since the GFR would be around 65-85.
No:3. Stage 3: The kidney function is moderately reduce and the GFR is between 35-60.
No:4. Stage 4: The kidney function is severely affect and the GFR is between 15-30.
No:5. Stage 5: The GFR is less than 15 and it is consider as kidney failure. In this stage usually, people require dialysis for blood purification.
