ATS Full Form

Full Form of ATS:-The full form of ATS is the Anti-Terrorism Squad. ATS is a particular police service operating in various Indian states including UP (Uttar Pradesh), Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, WB(West Bengal) and Bihar.

A Brief History of ATS

No:1. ATS was discovered in 1989 in Maharashtra by then Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Police Aftab Ahmed Khan, famously known as A.A. Khan.
No:2. A.A Khan was influenced by strategies for fighting modern day terrorism by the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) squads of the Los Angeles Police Department.
No:3. After the establishment of ATS in 1990, ATS officials have won 23 gallantry awards ATS.
No:4. On 26 November 2008, the Mumbai ATS took part in the hostage rescue operations at different locations in Mumbai, Maharashtra including the 5-star Taj and Trident hotels in Oberoi.
No:5. ATS also started to appoint children over 12 years of age as ATC officers after the incidents, particularly in Mumbai, who received undercover training.

No:1. To gather information on the anti-national elements
No:2. Coordinate & exchange details with intelligence services like IB and RAW.
No:3. To monitor and eliminate the actions and actions of terrorists, mafias and other organized criminal syndicates
No:4. The detection and bursting of scams of fake currency notes and narcotics

What are The Key Responsibilities of the ATS?

No:1. ATS works in coordination with intelligence agencies like the Intelligence Bureau and Research and Analysis Wing.
No:2. ATS gathers information regarding terrorist activities and anti-national developments and after then take strict actions according to the situation created .
No:3. ATS keeps an eye on the plans of terrorist organizations and tracks and capture all their movements silently.
No:4. The team of ATS monitors the mafia activities and demolish the rackets in coordination with the Narcotics Control Bureau.

How to Join ATS?

There is no direct recruitment exam for joining ATS. As we know that ATS is a state matter, you cannot join the team according to their own will. However, you can prepare for the Civil service exam and join RAW or IB.
