History of ATA

No:1. The first version of ATA was develop by the company name as Western Digital in 1986.
No:2. Originally, it was known as ATA but after the introduction of SATA (Serial ATA) in 2003, it became PATA.
No:3. Both PATA and SATA are IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) devices.

Functioning of ATA

No:1. ATA uses 40 pins connectors on either side of the cable and 40 or 80 wire designs.
No:2. One end is connect to the motherboard and other is connect to the hard drive.
No:3. PATA uses a single Bus but multiple wires.
No:4. ATA can be connect to two devices at a time, one is call slave and other is call master.
