Rule – 1 – आर्टिकल ‘The’ का प्रयोग सभी Musical Instruments केे नाम से पहले किया जाता है
Example – The Guitar, The Tabla, The Piano
नोट – लेकिन Musical Instruments का प्रयोग Countable Noun के रूप में होता हैै इसलिए इनके पहले A/An का प्रयोग भी होता है
Rule – 2 – जब कोई Singular Countable Noun किसी Speech में दो बार आता है तो दूसरे Singular Countable Noun से पहले “The” का प्रयोग होता है
Example – I saw a Bird. The Bird was beautiful
Rule – 3 – विश्‍व की सभी पर्वत श्रेणी (Range of Mountains) के नामों के पहले “The” का प्रयोग होता है
Example – The Himalayas, The Vindhyas, The Alps, The Kanchanjangha
Rule – 4 – आर्टिकल ‘The’ का प्रयाेेग Most of, Some of, Both of, Half of, None of, All of, Either of, Neither of, के बाद आने वाले Noun के पहले किया जाता हैै
Example – All of the students have come.
Rule – 5 – किसी आविष्‍कार के नाम से पहले आर्टिकल (Article) ‘The’ का प्रयोग किया जाता है
Example – The Television, The Telescope

Use of Articles with Examples

Rule – 6 – शरीर केे अंगों के नाम से पहले आर्टिकल (Article) ‘The’ का प्रयोग किया जाता है
Example – The head, The lag, The Nose, The Mouth
Rule – 7 – सभी द्वीयप समूहों (group of islands) के नामों के पहले “The” का प्रयोग होता है
Example – The West Indies, The Andaman, The West Indies
Rule – 8 – किसी नदी, सागर, महासागर, खाडी, गल्‍फ, नहर, आदि केे नाम से पहले भी आर्टिकल ‘The’ का प्रयोग किया जाता है
Example – The Ganga, The Yamuna
Rule – 9 – Superlative Degree के पहले आर्टिकल (Article) ‘The’ का प्रयोग किया जाता है
Example – The best player, The most beautiful child, The best bowler
Rule – 10 – आर्टिकल ‘The’ का प्रयोग Unique वस्‍तुओं के पहले किया जाता है
Example – The Earth, The Sun, The Stars, The Moon, The Marsh
नोट – लेकिन Heaven, Hell, God तथा Parliamentआदि शब्दों के साथ “The” का प्रयोग नहीं होता है

Rule – 11 – आर्टिकल ‘The’ का प्रयोग सभी ऐतिहासिक इमारत, वंश, साम्राज्‍य, ऐतिहासिक धटना, आदि के नाम से पहले किया जाता हैै
Example – The Qutub Minar, The Tajmahal, The Gupta Dynasty, The Mughal Empire, The Kaba
नोट – महत्‍वपूर्ण इमारत तथा संस्‍था के नाम दो शब्‍दों से मिलकर बने होते हैं जिनमें किसी व्‍यक्ति अथवा स्‍थान के नाम से पहले आर्टिकल ‘The’ का प्रयाेेग नहीं किया जाता है
Rule – 12 – Date of Month के पहले भी “The” का प्रयोग होता है
Example – The 26th January, The 5th January, The 2nd of August
Rule – 13 – धार्मिक समुदाय (Religious Community) तथा राजनीतिक दलों (Political Parties) के नामों से “The” पहले लगता है
Example – The Hindus, The Muslims, The BJP, The Congress
Rule – 14 – हवाई जहाजों (aeroplanes)]समुद्री जहाजों (ships)तथा रेलगाडियों (trains)के नाम से पहले “The” अवश्य लगता है
Example -The Meghdoot, The Vikrant, The Virat
Rule – 15 – देशों के नामों के पहले Article का प्रयोग नहीं होता है लेकिन कुछ महत्‍वपूर्ण देशों के नाम से पहले “The”अवश्य लगता है
Example -The U.S.A., The Netherlands, The Sudan
