What is the full form of ACP?

The full form of ACP is the Assistant Commissioner of Police. In the IPS (Indian Police Service), it is known as one of the top ranks. A rank used in police forces worldwide is the ACP. Responsibilities of an ACP:-

No:1. After the grade of Police Commissioner in the Indian Police Service, the ACP occupies one of the upper ranks.
No:2. ACP is considered to be one of the noblest positions and is viewed with high respect.
No:3. The ACP is responsible for the administration of the department’s everyday affairs, including criminal & related offences.
No:4. An ACP is also accountable for supplying positive reviews on departmental strategies, decisions, and behavior.

How to become ACP?

No:1. To become ACP, you have to appear and clear the UPSC exams that are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission Board.
No:2. You have to choose IPS in this exam.
No:3. The IPS officers as well as the DSP can be promoted to the post of ACP.
No:4. The state police officers can also become ACP after a successful career of 10 to 15 years.
No:5. To appear in this exam you should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or education board.

Age Criteria to Fill Form:-

No:1. The candidate should be a citizen of India and must have completed 21 years of age.
No:2. The maximum age limit is different for different categories such as General, SC, OBC, ST, etc.
