Full Form of OCD : Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

What is the full form of OCD?

No:1. The full form of OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
No:2. It is an illness where individual experiences recurring negative emotions or obsessions and feel compelled to carry out uncontrollable, repetitive activities or compulsions.

Symptoms of OCD

One can divide the symptoms into two parts: obsessions & compulsions and most OCD individuals show both obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Symptoms of obsessions

Obsessions that are upsetting and therefore trigger anxiety and depression are repeated, unwanted thoughts or desires. Some typical symptoms of obsession that are primarily obsessive feelings are :
No:1. Fear of being infected by touching items that others are touching
No:2. Doubts that you have not locked the door and switch the stove off, and so on.
No:3. Photos of yourself being harm or anyone you love
No:4. Fear of missing stuff or not having things you might need
No:5. Centred highly on moral or religious concepts

Symptoms of compulsions

No:1. Clean hands until the skin is raw
No:2. Repeated monitoring of the door to ensure it is close.
No:3. Repeated inspection of the stove or some other device to ensure that it is switch off
No:4. Repeatedly inspect loved ones to ensure that they are safe
No:5. In a specific way, trapping or counting items
No:6. Arranging objects in a particular order, such as books, bedsheets and so on.
